Sadler’s Wells [Sadlers Wells] BrE NAmE
a theatre in north-east London, England. It became famous as the home of three important national companies: the ↑Royal Ballet, the Sadler’s Wells Theatre Ballet (now the Birmingham Royal Ballet) and ↑English National Opera. All three have since moved to other theatres. Sadler’s Wells was rebuilt in 1998 and presents a variety of theatre, music and dance.
